RideNavigator ("we," "us," "our") operates a ground transportation comparison and marketplace platform accessible at ridenavigator.com and related applications (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data of all users, including passengers ("Customers"), independent transport providers ("Drivers"), and website visitors.

We process personal data in compliance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, revised 2023) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By using our Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account and Identity Data

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and password credentials. Drivers additionally provide company or sole trader information, professional licenses, vehicle registration details, and proof of insurance.

2.2 Booking and Trip Data

We collect pickup and drop-off addresses, flight or train details (for airport and station transfers), requested vehicle class, number of passengers and luggage, special requirements (child seats, accessibility needs), and booking preferences.

2.3 Location Data

With your consent, we collect GPS location data to facilitate pickups and provide estimated arrival times. Drivers share location data during active transfers to enable trip tracking.

2.4 Payment Data

Payment transactions are processed through third-party payment processors (such as Stripe or equivalent providers). We do not store full credit card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account details on our servers. We retain transaction records including amounts, dates, and booking references for accounting and legal compliance.

2.5 Communication Data

We collect messages exchanged through our Platform (including WhatsApp-based communications facilitated via our integration), customer support interactions, and any feedback or reviews you submit.

2.6 Device and Technical Data

We automatically collect IP addresses, browser type and version, device identifiers, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, session duration, and cookie data.

2.7 Verification Data

Drivers may be required to submit identity documents, background check information, and vehicle inspection records for verification purposes.

We only process sensitive personal data (such as health-related accessibility requirements) when you voluntarily provide it and with your explicit consent.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process your personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:

3.1 Service Delivery (Contractual Necessity)

Matching Customers with Drivers or third-party transport providers, processing and managing bookings, facilitating payments and commission settlements, providing real-time trip updates and communications, and managing ratings and reviews.

3.2 Platform Operation (Legitimate Interest)

Improving Platform functionality and user experience, analyzing usage patterns and performance metrics, preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access, resolving disputes between users, and ensuring platform security and integrity.

3.3 Legal Compliance (Legal Obligation)

Meeting tax reporting and accounting requirements, responding to lawful requests from authorities, retaining records as required by Swiss commercial law, and complying with anti-money laundering regulations where applicable.

3.4 Marketing (Consent)

Sending promotional communications about our services, personalized offers based on booking history, and newsletters. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe mechanism in any communication.

3.5 Automated Processing

We may use automated systems, including AI-assisted tools, to match bookings, optimize pricing, detect fraud, and manage communications (including automated WhatsApp responses). You have the right to request human review of any decision made solely by automated means that significantly affects you.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 With Drivers and Transport Providers

When you make a booking, we share necessary trip details (pickup/drop-off locations, time, passenger count, special requirements) with the assigned Driver or transport provider. We do not share your full payment details with Drivers.

4.2 With Customers

Drivers' relevant information (name, vehicle details, ratings, estimated arrival) is shared with Customers for pickup coordination.

4.3 Service Providers (Sub-processors)

We engage the following categories of third-party service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • **Payment Processing:** Stripe Inc. and/or other designated payment processors (payment transactions, payouts)
  • **Cloud Infrastructure:** Vercel Inc. (hosting), Supabase Inc. (database)
  • **Communications:** Twilio Inc. / Meta Platforms Inc. (WhatsApp messaging)
  • **Analytics:** anonymized usage analytics providers
  • **Mapping:** Google Maps Platform (address autocomplete, routing)

All sub-processors are bound by data processing agreements ensuring equivalent data protection standards.

4.4 Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose personal data when required by law, court order, or governmental authority; when necessary to protect the safety of users, the public, or our Platform; to enforce our Terms and Conditions; or to protect our legal rights.
