Geneva Airport has one main terminal with two sectors: the Swiss sector (main) and the French sector (for passengers traveling to/from France without entering Switzerland). Most international flights arrive in the Swiss sector.

Airport Overview

Geneva Airport, officially known as Genève Aéroport, is the international airport of Geneva, Switzerland. It is located 4 km northwest of the city center. The airport has two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 (T1), which is the main terminal, and Terminal 2 (T2), which is used only during the winter charter season. In 2025, the airport handled over 17.8 million passengers. The airport is unique in that it has a French sector, allowing passengers to exit to France directly.

Terminal Layout & Airlines

Geneva Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 2 (T2). T1 is the main terminal and is divided into five piers (A, B, C, D, F). Pier F is the French sector. Arrivals & Meet Your Driver

Upon arrival at Geneva Airport and after collecting your luggage, you will exit into the main arrivals hall on the ground floor of Terminal 1. This is the designated meeting point for all passengers. Your driver will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name on it. The meeting point is located near the visitor center and the UBS bank cash machines, under the large Rolex clock. Be sure to look for your driver in this area.

Taxi & Rideshare

Official taxi ranks are located directly outside the arrivals hall of Terminal 1. A taxi to the city center will cost approximately CHF 35-45, depending on traffic and the time of day. Rideshare services like Uber are also available at Geneva Airport. The designated pickup area for Uber is in the P4 parking garage on the arrivals level.

The airport railway station has direct access to the check-in and arrivals levels. All trains stopping at the airport stop at the main Geneva-Cornavin station in the city center. A single ticket for the Unireso Zone 10 (which includes the airport and city center) costs CHF 3.00 and is valid for 60 minutes on all forms of public transport. Free 80-minute public transport tickets are available from a machine in the baggage reclaim area for arriving passengers.
